Morning Hug

Terms of Use

Last updated 21 October 2026

These terms apply to the Morning Hug app and service, run by PrivateDevOps LTD, a company registered in Bulgaria (UIC 204591393, Sofia), "we" in these terms. By creating an account or linking a phone you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

Morning Hug is not an emergency service and not a medical device. It cannot guarantee that a missing sign of activity is noticed or that an alert arrives. In an emergency, call 112 or your local emergency number.

What Morning Hug does

Morning Hug lets a family member, the carer, see that a parent who lives alone is active during the day. The parent's phone shares signs that it is being used. If there is no sign for longer than the carer has set, the app first asks the parent whether they are OK and then tells the carers. The parent can also press SOS. The family can send the parent photos and is reminded of the parent's birthday. If the parent chooses, the family also sees how many steps the parent takes each day. Step counts are a sign of activity, not a measure of health.

What it cannot do

Morning Hug depends on the parent's phone, its battery, its network connection and the rules of its operating system. A phone that is switched off, out of battery, without a connection, or one on which the app was closed or restricted, may send no signs. Signs of activity show that the phone was used or moved. They do not show that the parent is healthy or safe. Morning Hug does not watch the parent's health, does not call emergency services and does not replace personal contact or professional care.

Your account

The parent's consent

Morning Hug is for families who agree to use it together. Link a phone only with the knowledge and agreement of the person who uses it. The parent confirms on their own phone before anything is shared and can stop sharing at any time. Using Morning Hug to watch someone without their agreement is not allowed, and we will close accounts that do it.

Photos and other content

You keep the rights to the photos you send. You allow us to store them and show them to the parent and to the people who look after the parent, only so that Morning Hug works. Send only photos you have the right to share. Content that is illegal, hateful or sexual, or that harms someone else, is not allowed. The parent can report a photo, which deletes it at once. Photos are deleted after 90 days.

Fair use

Do not try to break into, overload or copy the service, and do not use it to harm or deceive anyone, for example to ask a parent for money or for codes. We may suspend an account that does so, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Changes and availability

We keep improving Morning Hug, so features may change. We aim for the service to run without interruption, but maintenance or problems outside our control can stop it for a while. If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we tell you in the app or by email before the change applies. If you do not agree, you can delete your account and cancel your subscription.

Liability

We provide Morning Hug with care, but because of the limits described above we cannot be responsible for a sign or an alert that was missed or delayed. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it, for example for harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

App Store

If you got Morning Hug from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Morning Hug or its support.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Bulgaria. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the law of the country where you live and can bring a claim there. Please write to us first. Most problems can be solved by email.
